Corfu is well - connected to mainland Greece with frequent sailings to Igoumenitsa, Patras and Pireaus and also to the Italian ports of Bari, Brindisi and Ancona.From Igoumenitsa the ferry-boats sail daily from 6.00 - 22.00 hrs. The open type of ferry - boats cover the distance to Corfu Harbour in 1 hour 45 mins, the larger closed ferry - boats in 1 hour. During the summer period sailings are more frequent and there is a departure from Igoumenitsa every 45 mins.

For visitors to the south of Corfu there is a faster route connecting Igoumenitsa to the harbour of Lefkimmi (1 hour). From Patras there are sailings each evening between 21.00 - 24.00 hrs bound for Italy which put into Corfu in the early morning hours for embarkation. From Italy the same boats stop in Corfu before going on to Patras

The long distance coach services company (Yperastiko KTEL) runs the greens busses that serves the rest of the island of Corfu. It also runs services to Athens, Thessaloniki and towns en route.
