Gardeno is a picturesque fishing village, full of green with a
beautiful sandy beach and clean sea. A small natural harbor for the fishing boats and the beautiful all green hills are a supplement to the scenery. Not far away from the houses, there are picturesque fish taverns, restaurant-bars, mini market, telephone and beach facilities. The nearest village is Vitalades in 1.800 m. and in 4 km is Lefkimmi. North, in 3 km, is Perivoli and up ahead Argyrades.
The surrounding hills are ending abruptly like have been cut. The shallow, clear and fresh sea with the natural bay where the fishing boats mooring and the argyle mud-baths, are making a magnificent environment away from stress and noise, so close to paradise on earth.On both sides of the river up to Gardenos beach, there are some beautifully situated apartments, built in local style, small family run business where the whole family is occupied with the maintenance of the apartments and the vegetable gardening.

Vitalades counts 530 inhabitants. It is a quiet, small village, like
most of the villages of southern Corfu, totally unchanged from tourism and cosmopolitan life. Inhabitants' major occupation is fishing, whose daily catch is served at the traditional fish tavernas of Gardenos beach. Scattered in the small village's square are some traditional 'Kafeneia' and the striking beauty of Saint Apostolon church, where every summer in the 29 of June, name-day of Aghii Apostoli, great feast takes place. Just 500 m. outside Vitalades village you can find the monastery of Saint Panteleimon, built in 15th century and a second important place for the feast of 27 of July, during which the inhabitants and the visitors have a wild time. Perivoli is a small traditional village in the south, built along the road to Lefkimni. The church of the village, dedicated to Aghii Saranta has frescoes dating from 1704. Roads lead from Perivoli to Santa Barbara beach , a very extensive beach with all the features of these southern shores of Corfu: fine sand and shallow water
