The initial impression you get of the Kontokali Bay Hotel is that it is a little dated but having said that the place grows on you incredibly quickly , a great calm place to relax and wind down. The hotel kindly provided us with an interconnecting room as we had booked a separate room for our teenage children. The staff are genuinely friendly and cheerful, especially those in the restaurants.The Kontokali Bay hotel is incredibly clean the staff do a wonderful job ensuring that the rooms were and general areas are very clean and the gardens well kept .The reception staff though very helpful and efficient could be more tidily dressed for a hotel of this standard.

he saltwater pool is a good size and the beaches with great views are comfortable with plenty of loungers , you dont need the stress of having to reserve a place ( even though some people do ). Water sports are available as well as boat hire which is a great way to spend a few hours . The food was excellent, the restaurant relaxed and unhurried, there was a great choice for breakfast , lunch and dinner. The taverna at lunchtimes has a very tasty selection of barbequed fish and meat

If you are half board you can take lunch instead of dinner.The local village of Kontokali is about 15 mins walk away , as is Gouvia Marina .Gouvia itself is a longer walk or 10 euros in a taxi, with Corfu Town 15 euros in a taxi.
One minor complaint was that the waiting staff in the lounge/bar area would walk past when you had empty drinks and not enquire if you wanted more.We found that we had to go to the bar to order. Yes we would go back , we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable it is a credit to the staff the atmosphere they create in the Kontokali Bay hotel
