Kontokali Bay is a lovely hotel in corfu in a simply stunning setting at the rear with views across the sea to the coast of Albania and Corfu Town. The hotel is quiet at night, ensuring a good nights sleep. Although there are usually some children around, numbers are generally relatively small. The ages of guests varies - there are young couples, those with families and older (often repeat) guests. There are two private, excellent, sandy beaches with sun loungers and beach towels provided. The beaches can be reached on foot or by lift. My wife and I love this International Hotel, with it's friendly, helpful staff, the majority of whom speak good English and some of them many other languages as well. The public areas of the hotel are always clean and tidy, as are the rooms, which are adequately spacious, with hairdryer, TV, mini bar and free safety deposit box. Additional services are available on request.

Rooms are available with sea views, garden views or views to the nearby marina. There are also separate bungalows, some with private pools. Live entertainment is provided most nights, either on the terrace or on the stage by the beach bar, or both. There is also a very nice bar in the hotel. Kontokali Bay hotel is set in its own, well tended grounds. If you like a pool, the infinity pool on the upper terrace at the rear of the hotel is superb. Showers and changing huts are provided at the poolside and also on the two beaches. There is also a super Spa.

The buffet style meals are good and varied, both at breakfast and in the evenings and there is plenty of it! If you like fruit, Greek desserts etc., you will be spoilt for choice! Meals are taken in a large, clean restaurant, with very helpful staff. There are also theme nights - e.g. Greek and Italian. There is also a good beach bar/taverna with grille/barbecue etc., serving really lovely food at lunchtimes. A la carte meals are also available lunchtimes and evenings (except Sunday evenings) at extra cost. Various sporting and other activities are available and there is also a Kids Club

Shopping and other facilities in the area are limited and car hire would be an advantage. However, the hotel provides a free daily mini bus service into Corfu Town, (about 15 mins away) which can be pre-booked, or you can stroll to the main road to catch a bus. Lovely Gouvia Marina is also within walking distance.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at this hotel - not that we have ever had anything to complain about any way! We will certainly be returning in 2011 - which will be our 7th consecutive annual stay at this gorgeous hotel.
