Travellers Advice on St George Belle Helene Hotel | Corfu
In contrast to the modest development of St George North, Eleni and her team at the Belle Helene offer a range of cuisines to try & bars to relax in. The hotel is only 5 metres from the beach, so it is ideal for anyone who is looking for a relaxing beach or watersports holiday. Belle Helene hotel has a wonderful combination of Greek & international feel to it & attracts various nationality clients. It offers no organised evening activities. All rooms in Belle Helene Hotel are available on a bed and continental breakfast basis, with an option of an evening meal at a supplement. They are en-suite twin rooms (doubles on request) with a shower and separate balcony

Re: department of Belle Helene hotel sets such high standards !
by PAUL CLARK on Oct 2008 | Overal Rating of Belle Helene Hotel: 9/10
Second visit to the Belle Helene in three years. It was in 2006 that we found our dream hotel on Corfu and we just had to go back. The second visit sometimes is a let down. Not Here. Once again the staff are first class from front of house to house keeping
. Every department of Belle Helene hotel sets such high standards, its a pleasure to stay there. We got caught up in the XL Airline collapse, and the management could not do enough for us. Offering us to stay for a few extra days free of charge if we could not get flights home and also offering to drive us to the airport to buy tickets. We had a car on hire so we were able to buy tickets to come home. Only if was three days earlier than our holiday was due to finish. Will we go back to the Belle Helene hotel? You bet. I feel I have been robbed of those three days that we missed at this wounderful hotel in St George (North Corfu).

We also stopped at the Belle Helene in August 2007. We were a party of 12, which included teenagers and a child.
The setting of Belle Helene hotel is beautiful - with amazing views of the large beach. The beach offered a variety of motorised sports, which our party used exensively! The location (St George, North Corfu) was really quiet with the local bowling alley about the only lively evening entertainment. If you wanted the traditional lively resort then this is not for you. This made it a bit too quiet for the teenagers. Travelling to other attractions could be done by local friendly car hire - but you need a good map! Belle Helene hotel was clean, basic and very friendly and by Corfu standards a really good hotel. The food was as stated above - local Greek food and a set menu, but we did find that if anyone didnt like the food, they did their best to bring you something you did like - spaghetti bolognaise! We loved the family atmosphere and the location and are off to stop there again this year.

Re: I would definately go back to the resort and stay at the Belle Helene again !

We stayed at the Belle Helene for two weeks in August 2007. The hotel is ideally placed right on the beach with only a quiet road to cross. The supermarket is almost next door. Belle Helene hotel rooms are basic but clean - the maid cleaned the room daily.
The hotel has a pool which is seperated into two parts; one at 0.65m deep which was ideal for our two young children, and the other which ranges from 0.65m to 3 metres at it's deepest. There was never a shortage of sunbeds at any time of the day, and the pool bar served snacks ice cream and drinks from early in the morning til late. We stayed half board, the breakfast was a basic continental breakfast with white & brown bread, jams, cereals, ham and cheese all available on a daily basis.
The evening meal is a set menu with a variety of different dishes throughout the two weeks, with a childrens set menu as well.
The only gripe I would have is that the drinks in the restaurant are much more expensive than in the rest of the resort. Coke, fanta etc was €2.30 in the hotel, €1.20 in the rest of the resort. The beer and wine was 0.50 - 1 euro dearer as well. The staff of Belle Helene Hotel are all really pleasant and will do what ever they can to help. There is no evening entertainment at the hotel, but there is a bar inside, and the pool bar where you can pass the evening hours. St George (North) beach and the whole area are stunning although the water is slightly colder than the rest of the island. There are plenty of sunbeds available, and Pedalos, windsurfers, and sailing boats available to hire. There are a number of tavernas around the hotel, of which Restaurant Dixtia was our favourite. The food and drink was excellent and at an amazing price. I can recommend the Lamb exochiko, washed down with a cold Mythos. I would definately go back to St George (north Corfu) resort and stay at the Belle Helene Hotel again.

Re: if you are looking for a relaxing holiday this is the place to stay. !

If you are looking for a reasonably quiet resort without the loud music from bars this is the place to go.
There are plenty of tavernas and a few bars where you can enjoy a night out mixing with other tourists and the locals. The disco is only open 1 or 2 nights a week. There is something for everyone here. The Hotel Belle Helene is situated on the beach. the accommodation is excellent all rooms are spacious with excellent bathrooms, all rooms have air conditioning, tv, hairdryer, mini bar and the essential balcony. you can also see the sea from all balconies without breaking your neck. there is a large pool with sunbeds and a bar serving hot and cold drinks and food. There is also a bar, lounge and restaurant inside. The pool bar is open during the evening and you watch the sea and the sunset, whilst meeting other hotel guests and locals. Agios Georgios is situated on the north west coast of Corfu, approx 35km from Corfu Town (Kerkyra). St George bay is horseshoe shaped and surrounded by green hills with a lovely sandy beach. The normal watersports are available on the beach. Car hire is available from Belle Helene hotel. I have been staying at this hotel for 4 years and wouldnt stay anywhere else on Corfu. The hotel owners, staff and locals are friendly and you will always get a warm welcome. So, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday Belle Helene hotel is the place to stay.
