Sidari Waterpark Guest Review //
"Lovely pool and service...rooms a bit overpriced"

Have just been to the Sidari Waterpark hotel apartments for 10 days, came back on Monday. First impressions were really good. The bar is very new and everything looks very modern. The staff at Reception were really friendly and offered to carry our suitcases to our rooms as well. We were in a ground floor apartment (even though we specified to have a high floor apartment...). The whole complex is kept very clean and our apartment was good but for the price we paid, we expected a little better. At first look everything seems to look new but on closer inspection things are falling apart a bit.

The bathroom is extremely small, the shower is so tiny that I couldn't even turn round in it and just managed to close the doors when I was inside. The shower leaks every time you get in it as there are gaps at the edges so the water flows freely out of it. Also we had to have the window open in the bathroom because there is poor ventilation and so lots of mosquitoes manage to get in and other flies etc. There was a hole in our bathroom wall with wires hanging out...not sure why but didn't think this was too safe and also in the top corner of the ceiling was what looked like mould but not sure what it really was.

The two bedrooms were big enough, not huge so if your a family of four you might think its a bit of a squeeze but they were big enough for both of us and all our clothes! There was only one wardrobe in one of the rooms. The wardrobe isn'tr relatively big so we had to use one of the bedrooms as a clothes room to lay all our clothes out on the bed as there was only 4 drawers for tops and then a rail in the wardrobe. The beds are very comfy and I had no trouble sleeping at all. Couldn't hear anything at all from outside and we had the patio doors open most nights. The patio is nice to sit out on and has 4 chairs and table out there.

The 'kitchen' is debatable....it's more like a giant dresser as you go in with a hob and sink built into it. We were only given one pan (giant casserole dish) so it was difficult to make food as we were self-catering. The fridge is big enough to put lots of food inside though and you also get 4 chairs and dining table too.
Maid service was faultless, they were amazing as you can imagine what a room looks like when two teenage girls have been in it! They came everyday and made our beds and cleaned up. They gave us new towels every 2 days and new bedding once a week. They would even tidy up our clothes and put them in piles on our bed. Exceptionally clean!

The staff are very friendly, especially Maria who works as a waitress there. She would bring our food and drinks out the pool for no extra charge. And even on the one day it poured down Costa brought food out to our room so we didn't have to get wet by running to the bar. They really are all amazing! Couldn't be any more helpful! The pool is very cold so beware, but after being in it for 10 minutes or so you warm up. Also be careful on the steps going into the pool as I saw several people fall over getting in as the steps are extremely slippery. No need to put towels out for sunloungers as there was always loads left to sit on, even after coming back at 12 midday from the town we still found loungers to sit on..

You need to pay for a safe and air conditioning if you want them in your room, we were told by Thomas Cook that these come included.....but they don't! For the 10 days we were there it costs 10 euros for the safe for the 10 days and then 48 euros for the air conditioning. It is 2 euros for every 30 mins on the computer and you can rent a laptop for 45 euros for the week with full internet access. The entertainment at night is alright, they have bingo or karaoke on, it depends how many people turn up to make it good. The Greek Night was extremely fun though so it is worth paying the 14 euros for.

Sidari itself is quite quiet so don't go expecting a party town! The best restaurant for food is Madisons...the staff are fantastic and the food is delicious! Make sure you catch an Impersonator as well as they are all very good, our favourite was Lady Gaga as she got us all up on stage! It wasn't very expensive either for drinks or food while we were out there. Also don't pay the prices in the little minimarket round the corner, carry on down the road to the left a little bit and you will come to two supermarkets, go in there instead... much cheaper. The sea is about 10/15 minutes away from the hotel down a very long winding dirt track. If you have problems with mobility I wouldn't recommend this place for you as there is a lot of walking involved. Make sure fi it's dark at night you get a cab back as it can be quite ahrd to see to walk back. The cab rank is located just past Madisons bar on the opposite side of the road and is 5 euros to come back to Sidari Waterpark. Also the gates at the back close at 1 am so you'll have to come in via the front entrance which is down a long dirt track too.
Would I go back again in Sidari Waterpark in Corfu island.....maybe but I wouldn't pay for an apartment....not worth the extra.
