Visited Paleo Inn for 1 week in October. Now I know it is a cheap hotel and maybe we are used to higher star rated properties, but even taking those into account I cant say I enjoyed my stay at the Paleo Inn. Having read previous reviews I was expecting the staff to be really friendly, and at best I could describe them as 'necessarily polite.' The room was basic beyond belief, 2 single beds , a desk, a wardrobe and a pokey little bathroom. The decor was depressing and dark without a single picture on the wall to lighten it up! The door locks on the bedroom doors were like a normal front door lock,and consequently made a horrendous 'clunking' noise every time someone went in and out. So at breakfast time there was no point trying to have a lie in as everyone elses door would wake you up! Then there was the dog at the house opposite who didnt stop barking all day.

The breakfast I actually thought was a joke. You get tea or coffee, something in a glass which is supposed to be orange juice, 2 slices of toast OR bread, then EITHER egg, a tiny bowl of cereal OR yoghurt and honey. You cant even have 2 fried eggs to go on both bits of toast!!! And the eggs appeared to be powdered rather than fresh.
The swimming pool is nice but very cold. The bar at the hotel is quite pricey,and the food is very poor

The best place to eat is in the harbour, a restaurant at the end of the boardwalk on opposite side of sea to the Apollon Hotel, called 'Gran Aladino' we ate there most nights,it has the friendliest owners and fantastic meze. We had lots of free drinks and complimentary dessert in there! Best beach is Liapades, a few km along from Paleo-lovely clear sea and v peaceful. Dont hire a boat from the man there though you can find much cheaper at other locations. If you like water sports and go at the end of season, head to Dassia, fantastic facilities there and only 20 mins drive from Paleoleokastritsa.

All in all Paleo is gorgeous and if you are after a place to stay which offers no comfort but is cheap then head to the Paleo Inn, but there are 2 or 3 other hotels that I will be going for if I return. Travelled with: spouse/partner. Visit was for: Leisure
