We had such an amazing stay at Kontokali Bay hotel and were really sad to leave. The two things I particularly loved was the food and the really welcoming atmosphere which is very child friendly. There was just so much wonderful food to choose from in the main restaurant and lunch taverna and the dessets were just fabulous! At lunch times there was a choice of fresh barbecued meat and fish (the prawns and swordfish were delicious) plus salads, chips, cooked meat, fruit, desserts.
And in the evenings there was an array of cooked meats, fish, pasta, salad, desserts and lots more. My husband said
he would have liked more fresh barbecued style fish and meat in the evenings and I think he could have had this in the a la carte restaurant but I liked the range of food in the main restaurant and it was so child friendly that we didn't go there.

The staff are also so incredibly welcoming, especially those at meal times and in the baby club "mini club". We took our son most days to the mini club and he really enjoyed it. Christina who runs it was really lovely. The water in the baby pool was a little on the cold side though which was a shame as my son didn't want to go in there. The weather hadn't been so warm so perhaps that was why. The main pool also was very nicely kept, looked stunning and had incredible views of the sea and lots of far off islands. The pool again was a little on the cold side and was also salt water which I didn't like.

The grounds are all very nicely kept and very attractive. In the grounds you'll find the spa which is very nice and it is a shame
I only went there on the last day. Since children are not allowed, my husband and I could only go separately. The spa is great though and I can appreciate why children are not allowed. The hydromassage pool is very nice and I really liked the main indoor pool and the sauna. I didn't try any treatments. The bar areas are very nice and very relaxing in the evening

In the little marina you can do watersports and hire boats. We hired a boat on two occasions. We really enjoyed the boat trips, taking our boat to a little island where we could anchor up and swim. The boat hire was also reasonably priced.
The room we had was very nice, it had a comfortable bed, large sofa and a cot. I was very impressed with the lovely baby cot as it had sheets and a pillow all made up just like our bed. I think my son slept better there than he does at home. I have read some reviews which describe the rooms as dated which perhaps they are in some ways but we were very happy with our room as it really suited our needs and we had a nice big balcony too which was very safe for our son to crawl around.
