If you are looking for luxury and tranquillity on the beautiful island of Corfu then the Kontokali Bay is for you. Despite some unseasonal May weather we enjoyed our stay at this upmarket Hotel. Our check-in was efficient rather than friendly but having said that we found the staff to be the strengh of the Hotel. In particular, the restaurant staff were exceptional. Dinomachi and Caterina who looked after us at mealtimes were a credit to Kontokali Bay Hotel.The highlight for me was a large birthday cake on a special birthday and all the Restaurant staff gathered around my table to sing Happy Birthday. We upgraded our room to a sea view and it was lovely to sit on our large balcony and enjoy the view of Corfu Town, Mainland Greece and Albania.Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.

As well as the usual amenities and daily towel change, bed linen was also renewed daily. The Restaurant meals were excellent with a good varied choice for breakfast. Dinner provided an extensive hors d'oevre followed by a wide choice of both Greek and International cuisine.The lunch time Taverna served King Prawns to die for. The Spa staff were friendly and the hairstylist also. The jaccuzzi and indoor pool were never crowded and the spa area felt calm and relaxed.

We were disappointed that the A la carte Restaurant did not open until we left as I think it would have been extra special to dine there. The bar prices were very high but our house wine at Dinner was excellent and good value. A lovely hotel, very friendly staff with an attentive manager, and a wonderful position, ideal for a relaxing break and the ideal place to unwind. We will certainly return and look forward to our next stay in Corfu.
