The transfer time from Corfu airport was about 20 minutes in a taxi. As we arrived in the grounds of the hotel the first thing that hit me was the beautifully manicured gardens - not something I was used to from previous trips to Corfu.
The check in process was quick and efficient and within minutes our whole group was being ported to our respective rooms.
The rooms in Kontokali Bay Hotel were a little on the small side if you were in a twin (as I was) but the doubles seemed to have more adequate space. The rooms were all nicely decorated however (in my opinion) and were clean and fully functional. I found the beds to be very comfortable.

I never ate in the restaurant in the evening, but the buffet breakfast was plentiful and tasty every day and lunch from the beach side grill was good value and excellent quality, although the drinks were a little pricey (although to be fair if the pound was a bit stronger against the euro it might seem more reasonable). The staff were always friendly and willing to help. In the evenings there was normally some entertainment laid on by the main bar, in the form of a pianist, or 3 piece band for example (playing mainly classical music), which provided a romantic mood for a night cap

The outdoor swimming pool was well maintained and a good size (salt water I believe) and if you prefer to hang by the sea you had a choice of lounging on a sandy beach or wooden decking, all exclusive to the hotel and beach towels were provided. The spa was also well equipped and maintained.
I stayed there for 10 days and loved every one of them. I would recommend this hotel to almost anybody - except maybe for a group of lads or girls looking for a good time. It's not really that sort of place
