I have just returned from yet another wonderful holiday at Corfu holiday hotel (my 15th) having worked there previous to this as a rep for Wings and latterly Thomson a la Carte. The location of the hotel is superb, bar and restaurant service excellent and the ambience and general friendliness second to none and I have travelled considerably over the years

Whilst the rooms are more than a little jaded now they are kept spotlessly clean and with that view to wake up to in the mornings one can forgive a little aging furniture on the odd occasion - everyone works so hard to make your stay a happy one and for this reason so many guests including myself return year after year. The caring attitude of the staff would be hard to beat anywhere. If your room is not ready please remember that International check out times are 12.00 normally so if you have to wait a little enjoy the offer of the welcome drink - many places you don't even get that!
Corfu palace hotel is a little oasis in the heart of town and within easy walking distance of the centre of beautiful Corfu Town

Of course one pays 5* prices - why do holidaymakers expect to travel outside of their own Country and expect everything to be cheaper than in their Country of domicile.... something I have never quite worked out in 30+ years of working in travel and tourism! The prices for eating and drinking in the hotel are still cheaper than the prices I have sometimes paid in a good winebar in London or indeed Lisbon. The system they use for the sunbeds is excellent and has been the same for years and has always worked well - if it isn't broke why fix it?

I am already planning my next trips back there for May and September 2010 and if the rooms have been refurbished great - if they haven't it won't spoil my holiday. If you go on holiday to find fault there is really no point in going anywhere and if you want all things English then go to Blackpool.
