This is the 6th time we have been to the Corfu Palace Hotel, and whilst I agree with some reviewers that the rooms could
do with updating more than they have been, you don't spend long in your room and as long as they are clean (which they are) I don't really worry - althought the beds are a bit hard. I have always found the staff extremely pleasant and courteous, and always available - once the barman realised I had a fruit cocktail every night, I didn't even have to ask - it just appeared !!

I always enjoy the meals - although my husband doesn't find them enough, apart from the bbq night, when the choice is terriffic. In relation to reserving your sunbed, even on year 1, we just asked the pool barman to put our number on it - I didn't even know that after 10am if you hadn't arrived, the bed was available, although we were always there before then anyway. The number of people returning year after year is enormous - but I have never found any snobbery at all. I do find the Italians tend to take over the place in August, so may be that could be a problem for some.

Once slight annoyance is that non-residents seem to be allowed to come into the pool area, and that can sometimes mean the residents are not able to get a bed whcih can be a little annoying. Also, I do have to agree that the manager, although he speaks to you at his cocktail party, doesn't really appear to be interested in you at other times. So - we will always go back on occasions, but the standards have dropped a little from 6 years ago, but then times change, and they have to, as they can't always rely on people coming back year after year, as they will gradually die off, and some younger visitors need to be encouraged.
