We were domiciled here by Easyjet during the volcanic ash cloud situation. Stayed here from 16-23 April. The best feature of this hotel is the staff! The three ladies on the front desk, whose names I don't know, were lovely. We were in a stressful situation, having to relocate and not knowing when we would be going home. These ladies were very kind and supportive of us in this situation. Thank you for your kindness ladies. The Corfu Mare Boutique hotel itself is very smart, furnished in a boutique style. We were in a double room with a sofa bed for our son. All very clean, lovely duvets and pillows. Only complaint was the underneath mattress protector, which was plastic backed and generated an awful lot of heat.

Once this was removed, everything perfect. The fan system in the room was very impressive and super-effective. The hotel had wi-fi, but were unable to offer internet access if you didn't have a lap top to use. This was frustrating, given our situation being stranded there. Breakfast- the usual Greek style breakfast of cereals, bacon, eggs, beans, cold meat, cheese, yogurt and honey and fruit etc. Orange juice wasn't very nice - it was more like undiluted orange squash, but OK when diluted with water.

The hotel is situated about half an hour from Corfu Town - quite a pleasant walk at the back of the hotel into town, until you hit the main road, but then you are nearly there. The main road on the front side of the hotel, is not easy to walk on and very busy with traffic. The blue bus ran on this busy main road, if you could work out the times. A very nice Mexican restaurant on the main road, Poco Loco, served lovely food in a lovely atmosphere. Travelled with: Family with Teenagers. Visit was for: Leisure.
