If, apart from bathing and relaxing, you would like to see something interesting during your stay on this beautiful island, you have a whole range of options. You can visit the Byzantine Museum, the Solomos Museum, the Church of St. Dionysus (the patron saint of the island), a whole row of other beautiful churches, the monastery in the village of Anafonitria, which is the oldest building on the island, the remains of the old castle above the capital, the sulphurous springs by the village of Keri, mentioned by Herodotus.
Also the village of Maries, where in the year 31 Mary Magdalene stopped on her way to Rome and brought christianity to the island and many other places. Of course, we recommend you see the unique coastal scenery, for example Navagio (a beach with the wreck of a smugglers' ship), the Blue Grotto, the sea caverns near Keri, the Porto Vromi Bay, the Gerakas Bay etc.
Of equal interest is the fact that Zakynthos is home to a number of rare animals. The Mediterranean sea turtles (Caretta–caretta) hatch here. Until recently every year about 1000 of these animals weighing around 150 kg and measuring more than 1 metre laid their eggs in the sand of the Laganas bay.

Their numbers are constantly diminishing and therefore measures are taken to protect them. We would, therefore, like to inform our clients that entry to certain beaches is prohibited from sunset to sunrise, at this time the airport is also closed and all air traffic is stopped. It is prohibited to take sunshades which are stuck into the sand onto some of the beaches, dogs are not allowed on them etc.
Another rare animal is the Mediterranean seal (Monachus–monachus). Colonies counting several dozen of these creatures live on the nearby Pelouzo island, to which entry is forbidden
