Just returned from a week half board here, and it was fantastic. Heavenly location and view to die for. Yes, excrutiatingly steep hills from road to hotel, and from road down to beach - but as long as you're reasonably fit, look on it as the only exercise you'll get apart from lying on the fabulous beach all day at Barbati. Beach bar Nautilus served fab lunches/drinks and hire out sunbed and umbrellas, the lady there is a very friendly yorkshire lass who did a Shirley Valentine. Hotel rooms basic, but adequate and very clean. Meals tasty - salad bar delicious. If you want a truly relaxing holiday, this is for you

Disappointing aspects; buses to Corfu town or Kassiopi stopped running after 4.30 in afternoon, so evening trips out needed a taxi (25 euros each way). Advertised entertainment programme did not materialise, and when questioning hol. rep and hotel staff they embarrassingly conceded that things had slipped somewhat and nothing was organised. However, when a group of us requested a Karaoke night, they did put one on for us. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

Trips were limited due to the reluctance of coaches to come and pick up at Barbati. (Don't bother with the Greek Night trip - we circumnavigated the whole of Corfu island just to pick up 4 people. What should have taken us half an hour to get to Corfu, took us about 2 and a half hours.) So, in conclusion, great hol for total chill with great beach and stunning views from hotel, but very quiet and not easily accessible if you want something to do at night.
Try and see Corfu Town, and sit and sip coffee/drinks at the Liston buildings and people watch. Kassiopi nice for an evening out. Good italian rest. there called Little Italy. Don't bother going 10 mins down road to Ipsos, it's tatty, naff and a dump. Weather was gorgeous every day, only had rain early one morning.
