Barbati is a lovely and quiet resort across the bay from Corfu town. a mere 30mins drive from the airport. we flew in early to corfu and so could only check in at 12 noon. we did however, go down to have breakfast - a feast for the eyes let alone the tummy! and for only 3 euros per person. we had originally booked a standard double room but on arrival they had run out of standard room so put us in a standard self catering apartment. the rooms are v basic but clean and cool. the bathrooms are more like wet rooms and ours did not have a shower curtain. the view from our apartment was lovely and we had a great balcony which we sat on and enjoyed pre dinner drinks and card games!

We did eventually move to a standard double room as we wanted a TV and DVD and had no need for a kitchen etc. the walkways to the rooms are very steep but a little exercise never hurts - especially if you're gorging at the hotel restaurant on half board basis. Dinners were great - not stuck for choice and always fresh salads and oven baked breads. a half litre
of village wine cost 4.90 euros - bargain! sitting on the restaurant balcony overlooking the pool and the bay was truly great!

The Pantokratokator hotel bar has such friendly staff and loads of cocktails to choose from! every night there was some sort of activity arranged including karaoke and a few quiz nights. it was fun and light hearted and got to meet new people.
unfortunately for us the last 2 days had hectic thunderstorms and showers and it was very wet but a DVD sorted that out. we hired a car - something i would suggest - and visited corfu town and glyfada bay/beach. all in all i would definitely go back but would rather upgrade to a luxury room
