I stayed at Pantokrator hotel with my partner 12th-19th september. I enjoyed my time at the hotel and barbati and thought corfu was beautiful. I agree that the hotel is on a mountain and the walk up is steep- but surely with all the info available, people could find that out before they get there. It isnt a big deal, yes it would have been nice to not negotiate it after being out all day- but it isnt that bad, and go up it slowly. There is also a bus from the hotel that collects you and takes you up it, so make sure you find out about that !!! I thought the Pantokrator hotel was beautiful- the reception very chilled with the sprawling beds to lay on, and the balcony's and bar and restaurant all looked wonderful. The views from the hotel are superb- I sat and watched corfu town twinkling for a long time on this holiday... The pool lovely too

The food was disgusting- I totally agree with the other review writers- exactley as they said it isnt worth half board....The wasps were an issue but locals told us that it is grape season as in they are around beacause of the grapes and so how can you be angry at nature- and I am somebody that has a risk of anaphalactyc shock from wasps!!!
The rooms were basic, and yes towells and fittings old and worn out, but you know what - I didnt care. (I could dry and wash myself- they were not the softest and whitest towells and the shower head yuk- but I was happy to be away)

I would have had more to say about this hotel being not up to scratch if I wasnt very happy with the holiday- but I go away for the area and the sea not the hotel- so to be honest if you view a hotel as a place to sleep this hotel is fine. If you wanted to make the hotel more of your holiday then I can see it would have been dissapointing.
I would recommend ask for a room away from the main nightly entertainment as after 3 nights of the same repetative 80's hits untill 2am I got fed up and so got moved to a room far away from it and slept soundly. I also had one of the apartments for our last night which I have to say were beautiful- like small flats. All in all I would recommend this hotel- it all depends on what you go away for. I would go back as I loved its position- possibly in one of their apartments- and self catering!!!
