Pantokrator Hotel //
"Corfu holiday for those looking for sun + lots of peace and quiet"
The hotel is exactly as pic's on internet and blows you away on arrival. As others have warned, it is on quite a steep hill and I would only advise people with good mobility to book. The superior rooms are of very high standard but are smaller than they look in the pic's. The hotel was spotless and the food was buffet style but also very good. The staff are very attentive and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. I can only think of two negative points - one minor, which is the shower ran hot & cold at will, the second neg point (and more annoying) was the owners dogs that started barking continuously late on the last two nights of our stay which I felt was very inconsiderate and we ended up ringing down to reception to complain |
About 10 mins later the noise finally stopped. There is a local pebble beach, which when we went was very quiet and the sunbeds/umberellas can be used for 9 Euros per day. I would strongly advide going to the supermarket around the corner from Pantokrator hotel (really nice guy) and purchasing a pair of rubber-soled shoes for about 5 Euros to make getting into/out of the sea a little less painful on the old feet. The resort itself is very, very quiet at night with only a small selection of bars & restaurants and would suit older couple's more

Eating out would typically cost about 50 Euros per couple for a meal and approx 20 Euros for a luchtime snack. A car would be advisable for those who are easily bored as by the second night, you've seen pretty much everything. There is a really nice snack bar on the beach and all the guys there are very friendly and the food/drinks are reasonably priced. We paid for half-board and spent 340 euros for the week on food, drinks, sunbeds etc (please note neither of us drink !!) Overall I would strongly recommend this as an almost perfect destination for those who want little to do but soak up the sun and really chill.
