Nissaki Beach Hotel, Guest Review | "Never Again"
Having read other reviews about Nissaki Beach Hotel in Corfu iwasnt sure what to expect so went with an open mind. First impressions seemed ok we arrived around midnight and checked in the only problem was the reception staff werent sure if we were All inclusive or not. We knew we were and they said they would contact us if there was any problem after they checked the following day. We never heard from them again so assumed all was ok. The rooms were ok although the bathrooms looked quite tired and in need of a re furb, they appeared grubby but were cleaned everyday. |
The beds were AWFUL so uncomfortable and rock hard, the pillow (you only get one) was flat so i needed to use the bed cover rolled up under the pillow. The cleaners never took the hint and brought more pillows also the bed linen was the same all week and never changed. The sea was lovely and clean and although the beach was pebbly which we knew the water was full of rocks and boulders not good if you are unsteady on your feet. The pool at Nissaki Beach Hotel was nice although all out swimming clothes have yellow stains which wont wash out. I assume this is from the chemicals in the pool. |
The animation team work hard and there is always something to do if you want to join in. The evening entertainment is so bad it was funny, although im not really into evening entertainment lots of people seemed to enjoy it.
Now onto the bad stuff !! We were all inclusive 6 of us. I had to keep reminding myself that we werent staying in second class but had paid before we came. The kids wanted ice cream and when they were served this at the pool bar the staff told them if they were giving ice cream to adults they would be in trouble ! Heaven forbid if id pinched a bit of the kids ice cream.
The food included at the pool bar was limited but what i found really annoying was anything ordered from all inclusive came in plastic cups or plates whilst if you were paying everything came on proper plates and glasses. Also food quality was obviously different a salad on AI was far smaller with less ingredients for example if you were paying then you also got shredded cabbage in your salad. Not the end of the world but definatley a difference in food standard |
The food in the restaurant was lukewarm, dull tasteless, unimaginative and poor quality. By the end of the week going into the restaurant was depressing. The veg was mainly tinned and the meats were quite fatty and poor. The fish was sliced so thin i think it would have made a better flip flop than meal !! Also very limited choices, certainly wouldnt recommend.
There is though a nice taverna on the beach called Yannis and we ate there. In fact they obviously knew how poor the food was at the hotel as a comment was passed and i guess lots of desparate Nissaki Beach guests go there looking for decent food.
It was nice to sit on the terrace and watch the sun go down looking over the sea. |
There is no bar open in the Nissaki Beach Hotel during the day so you cant really take drinks to your room unless you are staying close to the pool bar which again was annoying. All in all unless you are hiring a car and can escape for meals etc i wouldnt stay at this hotel, im sure there are much nicer hotels in Corfu. Travelled with: Family with Teenagers |
