We are Americans that have lived overseas for a few years and I will start by saying Nissaki Beach was the best hotel we have stayed at since living in Europe. I looked online before booking here, and most of the comments were right on! I will start with the good first... It was really clean. This is essential for us as we are traveling with an infant and our needs are much different now. The staff was very friendly. We did not have any problems. We ran into a few Brits that were upset that there were too many rules (dining, pool, smoking). But we did not see this as everyone seemed to be smoking, the dining rules are posted (in fact my husband was "called out" for wearing shorts to dinner- we didn't notice the rules posted), and the pool was lovely.

We had chairs brought to us at the pool and on the beach- and everyone was helpful. But, get to the pool early, because the spots are taken up pretty quickly and people are there ALL DAY, as in 8 AM until 7 PM, sucking up the spots.
The price was great. We have stayed in far worse for far more. The food was good. We were only there four days, and some people were complaining that there is only Greek food. Well hello... we are in Greece. We live in Italy and all we have eaten for three plus years is Italian.

And the bad...it was hot. We did not have an ocean front room and boy were we upset about that as our child was sweltering. Every time we left the room the lights and air went off. Having spoken to some friends who were at a different hotel, I guess it happens everywhere to conserve energy. The island lost power for five hours one morning and we about died. But even with air conditioning, it was hot. We were the only Americans. This does not bother us, but we could see as it would bother some other Americans because we did get some rude looks from other nationalities. But whatever, we are used to it.

We took a boat tour that was a little silly. We drove up about a block from the hotel and then the boat took us out for an hour and right back to the hotel. t was supposed to be 3 hours and that was not the case. Nissaki Beach Hotel is a long way from anywhere. We brought our car so this was not a concern. But, if we had not had the car, it would have been pretty bad. We heard several people refer to it as Alcatraz- but hey, rent a car. The beach is made of rock. We are from Florida where it is sandy. Bring your beach shoes because it is hard walking around on the stones without them. Overall we were really pleased. It was a great deal and we had a great time. We would suggest the Nissaki Beach Hotel hotel to anyone. WONDERFUL!!
