We had some reservations having read previous reviews, shades of ‘faded glory’. We could not have asked for more from this hotel, its location a ten minute walk to the centre of Kerkira (Corfu Town) overlooking Garitsas Bay. (Note the route is not wheel-chair friendly on the left side and the road opposite the hotel is busy). Our room was clean, fresh towels each day with, as a welcome touch, additional towels provided for use by the pool. The pool is ‘Olympic size’ good temperature and clean sea water.

here are recliners round the pool plus showers, bar, toilets and a changing booth. Breakfast was very comprehensive, fruits, yoghurt, breads, and an extensive ranged of cooked food, three types of egg, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans etc. We did not have lunch at the hotel but can recommend dinner, five courses for 36 euros, plus extensive a-la-carte menu, starched tablecloths and linen napkins. Food can be taken either on a terrace overlooking the bay or inside the hotel. Throughout staff were solicitous, efficient, welcoming but never intrusive. We commend the hotel highly and will certainly stay there again; during our stay one guest was celebrating her 40th visit to the Corfu palace hotel
