We spent a week at Agios Gordios Beach Hotel and there is just one word I can use 'FANTASTIC'. There have been some negative reviews posted but I can only assume they were some the type of people we saw at the Hotel.....miserable, moaning minnies!! We arrived at the hotel via a transfer that was arranged by the reception staff (thanks Annetta) to a warm welcoming greeting from the reception staff. We were swifty booked in and all the information regarding the 'all inclusive' was clearly explained and then we were escorted to our room. The room was very clean, with flat screen TV and dvd player (you can borrow films from reception at no charge and they are English!) Bathroom was clean and had hair dryer, bath/shower.

All the rooms have a beach/sea facing view which on an evening gives you a fantastic sunset. The food in the main restaurant which was clean and the food was exceptional, there was no waiter service but staff are there to clear tables. There are salad bars, main meals (yes there are chips but the Greek food is very good too......try it) The puddings selection was very good and caters for most tastes from cakes, jellies, mousse, fruit, ice-cream gateaus. You can get wine (red/white) and beers is on tap you just help yourself.....soft drinks and water also. Every evening there is a grill cooking fish, chicken, lamb and pork (check what speciality is on each night) Breakfast is excellent, you can get a full cooked breakfast.....or cold meats and cheeses there is fresh Greek yoghurt (this is out of this world), cereals, tea and coffee with soft drinks.

You can arrange a packed lunch from reception if you are going on excursions. If you are on the all-inclusive you get one evening meal in the A La Carte Restaurant 'The Olive Tree', the meal we had there was brilliant, hats off to the chef. All waiting staff are very professional and curteous, they are a credit to the hotel. There is a Sushi Bar which we did not use as I'm not a sushi fan but we saw many folk using it. Bars - There were 3 bars available providing beer, spirits and cocktails that are all-inclusive. There is the Lobby Bar, most people frequented this bar during the evening as the entertainment was performed there. Then there is the Lagoon Bar, this is an outside bar beside the pool area, same drinks but during the afternoon they have snacks available to tie you over till tea!!

My favourite Bar was the Tunnel Bar......you have to walk down to the beach area for this the steps are steep but there are railings and if you take you time (you are on holiday after all and this is described in the hotel litrature) This Bar is run by Sophia who I think is one of the kindest members of staff in the hotel, she will talk as if you are a new friend, she is a credit to the Hotel. It is a very romantic place to have a cocktail and watch the waves crash on the beach. There is a Spa, with Jacuzzi and Sauna with a fitness room which is all free. The Spa treatments are well priced, I would reccomend the massages, very relaxing. All in all the hotel is perfect for a relaxing holiday.....no children allowed (but then some of the guests compensated for that and they were 50+!!) The staff were always smiling and ready to help in any way they could, very professional. There is always a duty manager who dealt with any problems swiftly and efficiently (contrary to some reviews I found the managers very professional) I will visit Agios Gordios hotel again as I had such a positive time here and would reccomend it to anyone.
