We have just returned from our third visit to this Hotel, having been twice last year and again in May of this year. I regularly read trip advisor reviews and am often perplexed at the negative reviews of this hotel by some travellers. Even more perplexed that anyone would want to spend precious holiday time looking for unattractive views to capture on camera, snapshots, which on their own, do little to describe the true magic of Aquis Agios Gordios Hotel.

The holiday begins with the journey down the hillside to the Hotel, where the views are breathtaking. The Hotel itself is built on a cliff-side, so therefore the area is hilly, not suitable for those with mobility problems, but all this information is easily found on Aquis website as is information regarding dress code for dinner. The Hotel was aquired by Aquis last year, and this was like a changeover period from Thomson Gold. This year, the Hotel is run by German company "sensimar" and as a result of this we found lots of improvement in both facilities, service and entertainment.

Aquis Agios Gordios Hotel itself is beautiful, bright modern and spotlessly clean. Three beautiful restaurants ,all serving lovely food and all with areas for "al fresco dining" .The main restaurant is self service, but waiting staff now serve all drinks to your table, a nice change. Breakfast is from 7am-10am and then from 10am-11am for late risers! Sunday Brunch from 11am-2pm serves breakfast items and lunch, the atmosphere complimented by authentic Greek musicians. Just lovely! Rooms are ,modern, spacious ,with a huge comfy bed and amazing views.Main Bar, Pool Bar and Beach Bar all serving "best quality" all inclusive drinks and each bar with its own distinct atmosphere The animation team consists of three young Germans who are a credit to "sensimar" They publish a newsletter daily (collect on way into breakfast) of all activities
for each day. The choice is yours therfore to take part or not....they are not the "in your face " animation team which we hate

Beautiful poolside with spectacular views and it is here that much of the evening entertainment takes place. the sunbeds are arranged into areas of seating, like little booths and very imaginative. The beds are not dirty, some a little grubby from suncreams, probably because they are cream in colour but not a problem to sit on.There is (new) a beautiful roof relax area with sunbeds,two jacuzzis, lots of seating and a decked area which is used by day for exercise/dance classes and by night for dancing.Everything at this Hotel is enhanced by the most fantastic friendly helpful staff. From the Manager to chambermaids, gardners, shop staff....all lovely people. Finally, thebeach. The beach is not the Hotel beach ..it is the beach of the resort of Aquis Gordios. Weather phenomenen has caused the sea-weed, storms when we were there in May saw it tossed from one end of the beach to the other, but we still managed a walk on the beach every day.We are returning in September and again May next year. Need I say more!!!!
