Aquis Agios Gordios Hotel // "Absoloutely 1st class Hotel in Corfu !!"
We were searching the internet for weeks in order to find a cheap but value for money last minute break and boy did we find one! The Aquis Agios Gordios is adefinitely a 5* hotel in all respects. We went in the first week of may for one week costing £650, A/L, for two adults. The weather was terrific. On our last day we had to come out of the mid afternoon sun as it was too hot. Our accomodation was a bungalow away from the main hotel and I would say that no one had stayed in it before us.
It was faultless. Leather couches, plasma screen TV's, the quietest, free, aircon I have ever encountered. The sea view was to die for too. The food was fantastic. A great deal of choice every day and plenty of it. |
Noting ever ran low as food was replaced by the lovely staff continually. The resteraunt itself was very pleasant as well.
Again with a sea view. the sunset in the evening was amazing from here and the terrace, pool bar and outside eating area.
The pool was spotless and the pool bar was very efficient in it's service. The age old practice of reserving a lounger by use of the beach towel was prevelant but you could still get a bed by as late as 9am if you hadn't made it down before. Afternoon tea was served here and was spot on. Nothing too heavy before the lush evening meal in the main resteraunt.
The beach was small and a little pebbly but at this time of year it was not packed at all. It is literally a 2 min walk away.
The little village a mere 10 minute walk away was just enough exercise twice a day to work up a steady appetite |
Over all I would give this 10 out of ten in every aspect.
If I had to be picky, there were only 2 downsides for me and these were that the reception staff weren't as five star as the rest of the hotel. There appeared to be only one member of staff that knew what they were doing whilst the rest, whilst polite, weren't very helpful and service could be slow. The other was the lack of courtesy room facilities for those of us who had late flights on the last day but we did get to use the shower area in the fitness suite. Not ideal but adequate.
Over all, I will return to this resort/hotel and would reccomend it to friends and family. Fantastic! |
