Hotel Yiannis Corfu: Traveller Reviews

Had a really nice time.
Just returned from the Yiannis, Ipsos. On booking we were told that it was B&B but also the room would have catering facilities.
They do not have SC facilities only B&B. We got a late deal at £245 each including accom. flights & luggage plus transfers and we are definitely not complaining. As previously stated by other holidaymakers, hotel is basic but we had a 5* view of Ipsos Bay from the lovely balcony, you're not guaranteed a view like that when booking a 4 or 5*. Room was a reasonable size.
Also the breakfast buffet was served at the pool bar area which was nice as the view of the hillside was also impressive. Glad that the hotel was a little distance off the main road because plenty of Italian teenagers bombing up and down the main coastal road on mopeds & quad bikes. Apparently in August even more Italian teenagers (young rich kids) which is a pity, although not drunk & disorderly like the young Brits, they were still noisy and I'd say much too many of them.

Great Family Friendly Hotel in Corfu
Stayed in this family run hotel overlooking Ipsos bay. Perfect as close enough to walk to beach and away enough not to be disturbed by traffic and bars. Clean well kept rooms. Views from rooms to the sea are georgeous.
Not self catering just a small fridge and we could have saved money and not booked the breackfast as was very basic. Large clean beautiful pool and bar area, friendly staff and great views make this a place I would return to.

Excellent location, friendly staff- 100% recommended
I have just returned from a week long holiday in Ipsos, staying at the Yannis Hotel. It was a thoroughly enjoyable week- the hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the sea views from our balcony were stunning and the poolside area was excellent.
The hotel is located a short 5 minute walk away from the main 'strip' of Ipsos, it is on a slight hill which provides fantastic views over the bay but is not too strenuous after a night on the cocktails!
The room was basic but always clean. It even had a great balcony area which we did not expect from the price we paid. Air conditioning is available at very reasonable rates although if you have the B&B option the lack of a fridge is a bit of a nuisance but can be easily overcome by putting your drinks in front of the A/C unit! All in all I would recommend this hotel to everyone- it provides a lovely base for people of all ages to explore the beautiful island of Corfu. Also, the Greek night is an absolute must!

Great value hotel
We have just got back from a week at Hotel Yannis and had a fabulous time. The rooms were basic, but clean and our balcony had a great view. We went self catering, but didn't use the self catering facilities (they are pretty basic) apart from the fridge. The bar/restaurant was lovely and we spent lots of time by the pool having a quiet drink and relax. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We can't fault the place, especially at the price we paid. The beach was only a few minutes walk away, with lots of nice restaurants.
We hired a car for the week (ignore the holiday reps - go to a small place on the strip and haggle - you'll get a bargain) and explored lots of the quiet harbours and bays on this side of the island. We also hired a boat in Agios Stefanos (near Kassiopi), from SanStefano boats and they were great value. The only downsides were the Olypmic rep (rude and pushy) and the flight. Monarch airlines were hell - nearly 5 hours late on the way out, the air con barely working on the way back and the smallest seats I have ever sat in

Trip to the emerald isle....
Just returned from Yiannis Hotel in Ipsos Corfu, had a fab time..... location great, staff brilliant especially the bar / restaurant crew... Georgie, Mario , Billy etc....... Apartments very basic but this is Greece!!!! you get what you pay for.... do not book on self catering because there is no kitchen as such just a plug in hob within a wardrobe !!!!! Views from balcony lovely....... can be noisy in and around ipsos, not suitable for kiddies...... beach pebbley...... nice selection of restaurants around we stuck to greek tavernas and seafood restaurants ourselves, very reasonably priced.... missing the sun already........Excellent value for money ..... as we travel lots this was a cheapy holiday and more than served its purpose........ we would go again.....

Great little hotel, but...
Wonderful hotel set in idyllic surroundings; shame the apartments let it down. The staff are all very friendly and exceptionally helpful; Tracey and Cheryl on reception gave lots of help and advice re car hire, tours ,restaurants etc, and the guys at the pool bar (Mario, George, Theo and Billy) were great fun. The food at the pool bar was good and varied, (full English breakfast with juice, toast, tea or coffee - €5; or 3 course dinner + glass of wine €10) just as well because the self catering facilities in the room were very poor.
A sink with only a cold tap, small fridge, one ring portable hob and a few bits of crockery and cutlery in a cupboard is not my idea of self catering ! I kept milk and juice in the fridge and bought some corn flakes, but I had to keep these in the bottom of the wardrobe !
As a solo traveller I managed, but a young couple with two toddlers were really struggling.
They said they had to eat out all the time which they hadn't bargained for. The hotel would be better off doing away with the self catering idea, giving more wardrobe space, and selling it as B & B or room only; but methinks they're dictated to by the big tour operators. Shame really, 'cos it's a smashing little hotel with great staff in a super location with a good clean pool and wonderful views

Great Holiday in Corfu
The Yiannis is a nice hotel, the rooms are basic but for the price I can't complain, they are cleaned regularly and have everything you need. We stayed B&B but we never made it up in time for Breakfast! From what I hear the self catering facilities are not too good but the price for food in the restaurants is cheap so you don't need to cook! The views from the pool are gorgeous because the hotel is on a hill, the hill is quite steep but if you take it slowly it is not too bad! Ipsos is a nice place although it was fairly quiet, think is coming to the end of the season. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and a nice shingle beach. Would definitley go back

Everything We Wanted From Our Holiday in Greece
This is the second time i have stayed in Ipsos (Corfu) and the yiannis hotel and i have to say i would go back a third time. it has everything you could possibly want! the rooms are very clean and basic and the hotel is up a bank, this is compensated by the stunning 360 degree views of mountains, gardens and sea. the staff are second to none and are always willing to help. i sayed in room 303 which had the best view and was directly above the pool. Ipsos was lively but on a lighter note with bars and tavernas rather than clubs, there are loads of sports, shopping, history and culture in corfu to say the least. beaches are lovely and sea is crystal clear, beach in ipsos is shingle but you can hire loungers dirt cheap. excellent value for money and not really expensive over there even though they use the euro. top tips: dont go to corfu if you dislike cats as there are plenty of strays although harmless, try the 'cockatoo' cocktail bar and restaurant at the top of ipsos strip - its devine! 100% marks all round for me and my fiance!!!
